Apply to Receive Free Books for Your Classroom

At Joy for Books, our mission is to champion culturally diverse children’s books as a pathway to literacy. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit literacy organization, we advance literacy and representation by curating and donating culturally diverse children’s book collections to classrooms and communities.

We invite elementary school-level educators to apply to receive free books for their classrooms. Our team carefully reviews every application, and donations are awarded based on demonstrated need and alignment with our mission.

Selected educators receive access to our curated online bookstore, where they may choose 10 books for their classroom. Book donations are shipped to educators nationwide.

While we strive to support as many educators as possible, selections are made as supplies allow, and submission of an application does not guarantee a donation.
