Publishers, Authors & Readers

There are some beautiful BIPOC books being published right now. We would love to consider your book or a book you love for our annual book list. We are looking for unsung heroes of the literary world!

Our annual list of books will include books from small publishers and/or self-published authors, as well as the big five publishers. We will promote our book list from July 15 for an entire year to support those creators.

Book Selection Criteria

Consider our selection criteria before you recommend a title:

• Main characters in the book are BIPOC.

• Ideally, BIPOC creators have either authored, illustrated or published the work.

• The book is available for purchase as a bound book (not an e-book) by August 1 of this year.

• The target audience and reading level are appropriate for elementary school readers (preschool – eighth grade).
